Shopping

By Lorraine Caputo

Mundo Artesanal Titis is a ma-pa-son operation crafting a variety of useful goods right in their own home. Doña Mariela (ma) will show you ‘round the shop. She makes the small ceramic cups and saucers, candlesticks and candles. Her menfolk create the small wooden boxes. The family also mixes essential oils and incenses. The necklaces and earrings are by a young man in this same village and the fique-cotton sandals by a woman in a near-by settlement.
