Concepción is a weaving center not too far from Málaga. Here, small workshops create blankets, jackets, ponchos and other items from virgin wool—a perfect place to pick up some warm clothing before heading to Parque Nacional Natural El Cocuy. This village is considered the heart of Colombian textiles, hosting the National Wool Fair every December. The home of Salón Wilches, a late-19th-century Liberal politician, is preserved. If you want to take a soak, choose between the fresh-water pools ate Balneario Natural de la Quebrada Manaria or the warmer ones of Balneario Natural de Aguas Calientes. You can also visit the indigenous community, Samoré.
