Who do Pamploneses go on Friday and Saturday nights for a bit more elegant dancing? They say to the discoteca at Pamplona’s best inn, the Hotel Carionga. Many make this part of the circuit of hitting the night clubs down near the Plazuela Almeida. There’s no cover charge and no minimum consumption. Merengue, salsa, vallenato and reggaetón (yes, even reggaetón) throbs this dance hall until the morning’s wee hours. Only rum and aguardiente are on hand, though if what you want isn’t, the staff can scare it up—or so I was assured. Open Friday and Saturday 8:30 p.m.-2 a.m.
