Budget Restaurants in Pamplona

Like other tourist-oriented services in Pamplona, restaurants are affected when the University is not in session: they tend to close earlier and have a more limited menu. Mostly you will find criollo, or typical Nortesantansereano dishes. The municipal market occupies the entire block between Calles 6 and 7, Carreras 4 and 5. The entrance to the comedores, or eateries is on Calle 7; here you'll find cheap breakfasts and lunches (open 6:30 a.m.-2 p.m.). For inexpensive evening meals, drop by one of the small restaurants down Calle 6, between Carreras 6 and 8.
 
As you can expect in a gown-town, Pamplona has quite a happening night club scene, with everything from bohemian cafés with live trova music, to bars to sit 'round talking theories with friends over a few drinks, to discoteques. Many are concentrated around Plazuela Almeida, where the obelisk is. This is the service sector that is most affected when the university is not in session; many are closed. The few that remain open during this downtime do so with limited hours and/or only on weekends.
