Cocuy Overview

By Lorraine Caputo

The road from Cordoncillo to El Cocuy is unpaved. This colonial pueblo white and sea-green buildings is the most touristy of the two entries into the Parque Nacional Natural El Cocuy, with better hotel, shopping and nightclub infrastructure. In the main plaza is a diorama of the entire Sierra Nevada del Cocuy mountain range. Otherwise, there isn’t much to see or do in El Cocuy village itself. The daily lechero, or milk truck, into the park begins its daily route here.
