All transportation to the village of El Cocuy arrives and departs from Carrera 5 along the Parque Principal. All the bus companies have their offices on this block. Buses only leave for Güicán and other small nearby villages and for Bogotá. To go north to Málaga, Bucaramanga, Pamplona or Cúcuta, go first to Capitanejo with a Bogotá-bound bus.

To Bogotá, by way of Capitanejo: All charge $6.40 to Capitanejo and $20.20 to Bogotá. Concorde — leave Güicán 4 a.m. / El Cocuy 4 a.m.. Gacela/Libertadores — leave Güicán 4 a.m. / El Cocuy 5 a.m., 6-7 p.m.

To Bogotá, by way of Soatá and Diutama: Libertadores —every other day, leave Güicán 4:30 p.m. / El Cocuy 5:30 p.m., $20.20.

El Correo, the mail run between El Cocuy and Güicán, is operated by Cootradatil. It leaves once daily El Cocuy at 4 p.m. The fare is $1.30.
