Café-Bar Escocés is a newly opened intimate meeting place on the corner of the plaza in El Cocuy. Low rainbow lights play across the paintings of hometown legend Roberto Arango. The drink menu has Cocuyano favorites such as canelazo (warm aguardiente with lemon and spices), aguardiente and beer, plus wine for the international customers. Coffee, teas and sodas are also available. If the music inside gets a bit loud, just pull up one of the benches out front and join in on a jawing session with the locals. Open daily 4 p.m.-midnight.
