In a three-story, A-frame chalet, Juan Carlos Carreño and his family provide simple rooms with bunk beds for up to 35 guests. On the third floor are two rooms, each with a double bed. Up there is also a sitting area for everyone's pleasure with a view onto the snowy peaks. No rooms are heated. There are no private bathrooms, only common. The one shower has an electric heater that barely takes the icy edge off the water. A new dining room and living room with fireplace are presently under construction. The Carreño family rents camping and climbing equipment. They hire guides and horses to all the major attractions in the southern and central range.
