Founded in 2006, Parque Nacional del Chicamocha protects part of the rim of the Río Chicamocha's canyon. This national park proffers much for the amusement of its visitors. The culture connoisseur can partake the Museo Guane, Plaza de los Costumbres and the Salón de Exposiciones. The adrenaline junkie can paraglide or zip down the cable-vuelo. For the whole family, there are walking trails, lookouts over the gorge, buggy cars and an ostrich farm. Construction has begun on a cable car that will descend to the ghost town of Jordán at the base of the canyon, and is expected to open the end of 2008.
