Things to Do in San Gil

San Gil has much to offer those looking for an adrenaline rush: Raft or kayak on rivers with class 2 to 5 rapids. If you'd like something real different, there's hydrospeed, or body boarding down the Río Fonce. Rappel, or try your hand at torrentismo (rappelling in waterfalls). Soar like a condor, paragliding from the new Parque Nacional Chicamocha. Or crawl through some remarkable caves. Stroll and picnic in the botanical gardens of Parque Natural El Gallineral. For those who are more culture-minded, there are villages to check out, like Barichara with colonial architecture and a resident artist community, or Curití, where fique artisans practice their trade.
