Besides white water rafting, there are other aquatic sports to partake in here in San Gil. Check with tour operators in the town for these excursion opportunities.
Kayaking— There are eight ríos (rivers) to run, though commercial trips are offered only on three of the rivers.
Multi-day expeditions may be arranged.
Torrentismo— Rappelling in waterfalls is a specialty in the San Gil area.
Hydrospeeding— This is an intense adventure of surfing down 10 kilometers (6 miles) of the Río Fonce’s rapids. You receive instruction and are outfitted with board, flippers, life jacket and a helmet. A kayak accompanies you for security. The standard price is $19 per person.
