Throughout Colombia this town founded in 1568 is renowned for its thermal springs. The public piscinas have large and small pools, as well as 10 individual ones ($5.30). There are also several haciendas: El Salitre, three kilometers (1.8 miles) away and Bonza, 10 kilometers (6 miles) down the road. If you feel like spending a night or two in Paipa, many of the principal hotels have their own pools.
