The second floor of a colonial building has been converted into a popular restaurant. The main breakfast and lunch area is the skylighted paio; the large front room is the principal gathering place at night. Why is this place so frequented? Perhaps it's for the savory almuerzos ($2.10)--or perhaps for an unusual member to the menu: lamb hamburgers. Yes, your standard beef burgers, as well as chicken, make an appearance dressed in many manners ($1.70-3.95)--and shish kabobs ($2.35) and meats hot off the grill ($4.75-7.95), some with unusual preparations. (The tropical au gratin sounds interesting.) Evenings full bar is served--a time to just hung out with friends, muching and drinking. Open daily 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
