Restaurants Eating in Villa de Leyva tends to be on the high side—both in style of cuisine and in price. Many finer restaurants are closed on Wednesday, including all those in the Centro Comercial Quintero, and after a three-day holiday weekend, many on Tuesday, also. You can find good, generous comida corrientes for $2.10. If you are on a budget, do other meals in. Some of the budget hostels have common kitchens and there are many shops to buy supplies. Market plaza is a flurry of sights and smells on Saturdays with farmers and other producers coming in from all over the countryside (Calle 12 and 13, Carrera 5 and 6). Nightlife The rumba (dance scene) in Villa de Leyva only really exists when the tourists come on weekends and holidays. During the week some of the cafés and restaurants around the plaza have guitar music. Your chances of catching live concerts, though, are better during the high season and holidays.
