Luis Alberto Acuña (1904-1993) is considered one of Colombia’s most important 20th century artists. In 1979 he established this museum to exhibit his own artwork as well as the art of others. There are also plenty of antiquities and decorations on display. The main gallery exhibits Acuña’s works in painting and ceramics. The Sala de Antigüidades presents antiques from all periods, especially that of Nueva Granada. The Tapestry Room also focuses on the Master’s work. In the patio are Acuña’s murals depicting indigenous legends, in addition to sculptures and masks.
