What are the indigenous nations that live in the Amazon region? What are their customs? How did the arrival of the white man affect them? These and other answers you will find at the Museo Etnográfico del Hombre Amazónico in the Banco de la República’s cultural center. This museum also houses many fine examples of implements and crafts by the Yucuna, Huitoto and Tikuna peoples. The collection is the efforts of Franciscan Capuchin Mission monks who collected them by over the many of their presence in the region.

Travel Tips: The Banco de la República’s cultural center also houses a library that has story hour for children and other programs (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-noon, 2-6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.-noon) and hosts free exhibits and special events.
