Budget accommodation is quite pricey in Leticia. But then, they have you over the proverbial barrel here. The usually reliable standby, camping, is not a viable option due to climatic and fauna factors. Be prepared to spend at least $10 per night per person. Some budget travelers prefer to hop on a boat to Puerto Nariño to spend a few days there. Most places will not have hot water, but will provide you with at least a fan. Air conditioning is also available, for a price. The more expensive hotels have swimming pools. Shop around, especially in the low season, when cheaper deals can be struck.
