Mochileros, a European-style backpackers hostel, is a wonderful idea that has come to Leticia—and gone. With once-splendid facilities, including common rooms with book exchange and board games, a common kitchen, laundry area and rooftop terrace, this inn has everything a budget traveler would want. The dorms have sturdy wooden bunks and lockers for securing knapsacks. Unfortunately, it’s a bit neglected these days. If you want to check it out, call first as the front desk isn’t staffed all the time. The administrator will meet you and give you a key.
