Travel Tips Types:
Climate, peak seasons

By Lorraine Caputo

Leticia has two distinct seasons. The dry season lasts from June to September. The rainy begins in October with amounts of precipitation gradually increasing, being heaviest from January to May. Temperatures are fairly constant throughout the year, with days reaching 31-32°C (87-90°F) and nights reaching 21-22°C (70-72°F). The Amazon flows heaviest in May and lowest in September, with a 15-meter (49-foot) difference between the two stages.

Weekends are fairly busy with shoppers coming in from Colombian, Peruvian and Brazilian river settlements. You might have a hard time finding a hotel room at this time.
