Buses leave from Villavicencio: Macarena, Arimena and Autollanos—hourly 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Bolivariano—11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. All companies charge $5.30 and take 1.5 hours.

Puerto López is a principal port on the Río Meta, which flows into the Río Orinoco. With patience it is possible to catch a boat downstream. The rivers are said to be heavily patrolled by the Colombia military now.
