Tourism
Instituto de Turismo del Meta has excellent information on the attractions in Meta Department (Monday-Friday 8-11:30 a.m. and 2-5:30 p.m. Cra. 33, 40-20, Edificio Comité de Ganaderos. Tel: 661-4444, URL: www.turismometa.gov.co). Better maps of the city and region, however, can be obtained at the Punto de Información Turística in Parque El Hacha (Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Cra. 32, between Ca. 35 and 36). Other offices of importance are: DAS (Ca. 37, 42-34. Tel: 672-5188) and Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi (Cra. 33a, 37-14, office 401. Tel: 662-6967).

Money
Many of Villavicencio’s banks are on Calle 38, including: BBVA (Ca. 38, 31-74) and Banco Popular (Ca. 38, near Cra. 30a), which both have ATMs; and Bancolombia (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Ca. 38, 32-27), which changes American Express traveler’s checks in addition to having an ATM.

The city has a quantity of casas de cambio, most located in the Centro Comercial Centauros (Cra. 31, 37-32). One is EuroDivisas (daily 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-7 p.m. Local 79, 2nd level. Tel: 662-8361). This mall is also where you will find Western Union/Giros y Finanzas (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-noon and 2-5 p.m., Saturday 8:30 a.m.1 p.m. Locals 64-65).

Keeping in Touch
Villavicencio has a Telecom office (Ca. 37, 42-12), but the city has many other local and national call services as well. The post office, 4-72 (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-noon and 2-6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.-noon) is located at Calle 39, 32-02. Internet is somewhat common, with cyber cafés mostly located on Calle 38 past the main plaza; most charge $0.80 per hour. Cosmonet (Ca. 38, 33-62) has international calls beginning at $0.30 per minute, as well as broad band Internet. Skype is scarce.

Medical
The principal healthcare provider in Villavicencio is the Hospital Regional de Villavicencio (Ca. 37A, 28-53, Tel: 670-5032, E-mail: hospital@hospitalvillavicencio.gov.co). Others serving the needs of villavos are Hospital San Antonio (Cra. 42 and Ca. 33) and Hospital San Luis (Ca. 35 and Cra. 44D). Pharmacies are especially concentrated on Calle 38, between Carreras 30 and 32.
