Doña Olga proudly states, "This is not a luxurious place. It's basic, secure, clean and cheap"-- and that's precisely what the Hotel Belmonte is. The rooms are simply appointed with classic, heavily carved furniture; some habitaciones come with cable TV. All rooms share the clean, common bathroom which has 24-hour hot water. Some of the rooms can be a bit noisy. This hostel is popular with backpackers and pilgrims alike. Doña Olga is helpful with tourist information.

Good Enough

After that long trip from Quito, this is a great place to crash the night before heading to Lajas the next day.
