Mid Range Restaurants in Ipiales

For an inexpensive place to eat, check out the panaderías on Carrera 6 between Parque La Pola and the Plaza de la Independencia. Many serve comidas Corrientes sat lunch and dinnertimes for between $1.60 and $2.50. Also, on Parque La Pola are some cheap restaurants. Ipiales also has up-scale restaurants specializing in traditional Colombian food; most are around Plaza de la Independencia and on Carrear 7. While visiting Las Lajas, be sure to stop off in El Charco to state a specialty of the southern Colombian Andes region: cuy (guinea pig) roasted over a wood fire.
