Although Laguna de la Cocha is an easy day trip from Pasto, you may want to spend more time to soak in the tranquility and positive vibes of this corner of the Andes. Around the shores of the lake are several places where you can pass the night. The most formal and luxurious of these is Hotel Sindamanoy, of Swiss-chalet-styled architecture, and the Hotel Guámez. To enjoy Nariñense hospitality, you can also stay in one of the reservas naturales that offer lodging (alojamiento), like Raíces Andinas, Refugio Cristalino or Encanto Andino; El Vicundo has a camping area.
