Pasto has many museums devoted to just as many topics. Whether your interest is in colonial, graphic, photographic or traditional arts, or natural history, archaeology or ethnography—or even Carnaval—you have some place to spend a few hours.

 

Museo de Oro (Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Calle 19 21-27, Centro Cultural Leopoldo López Álvarez, Tel: 09-2-721-9108 / 721-5777, ext. 255 / 261. Entry: Free.)

Museo Juan Lorenzo Lucero (Monday-Friday, 8-10 a.m., 2-3:30 p.m. Calle 18 28-27, Tel: 09-2-731-4414. Entry: $1.10.)—A 17th century priest’s collection of daily life objects, musical instruments and art.

Museo Luciano Rosero (Daily, 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Calle 23 17-52, Tel: 310-396-3289. Entry: $1.10.)—Once-private collection of religious and secular art, archaeology, numistics and natural history.

Museo Alfonso Zambrano (Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon, 2-4 p.m. Calle 20 29-79, Tel: 09-2-731-2837. Entry: Free.)—Collection of indigenous, colonial and Quiteño-school art.

Casona Taminango de Artes y Tradiciones Populares de Nariño (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-noon, 2-4 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Calle 13 27-67, Tel: 09-2-723-5539. Entry: $0.55 children, $1.10 adults.)

Museo Madre Caridad Brader (Monday-Friday, 8-11:30 a.m., 3-5 p.m. Entry: $0.30.)—Religious art, natural history, anthropology and indigenous ethnography.

Museo del Carnaval (Daily, 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Calle 19 and Carrera 42, Centro Cultural Pandiaco, Oficina Municipal de Cultura, Tel: 09-2-731-4598. Entry: Free.)—If you can’t join Pastusos for the Carnaval in January, you can revel in the color here.
