Getting to and away from Pasto

By Bus

Pasto's central bus terminal is located about 3 kilometers (1.8 mi) from the center, at Carrera 6 and Calle 16. The handicap-accessible building has an information booth, restaurants, shops, phones, an ATM (Visa, Cirrus, Plus), and even casinos and a pool hall to while away the time. Minivans and taxis depart from Módulo 1. Ticket windows for bus companies are in Módulo 2.

To Sandoná: TranSandoná (daily 6:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:45 p.m .; 2 hr, $4.50. Buses for Sandoná depart more frequently from the terminal near the university. Take buseta C5, C12 or C13 (Universidad de Nariño) to the station.

To Túquerres: Valle de Atriz (daily, 5:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m.; 2 hr, $2.80).

To Popayán: hourly 5:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m., 5-6 hours—Bolivariano ($16), Transipiales ($14), Cootranar ($13.50), Flota Magdalena ($13)

To Cali: hourly 5:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m., 8 hours, $19.50—Transipiales, Cootranar, Flota Magdalena. Also Bolivariano ($23).

To Bogotá: 18 hours—Bolivariano (hourly 9:30 a.m.-10 p.m., $55), Flota Magdalena (noon, 3:30 p.m., 9 p.m., $47).

To Mocoa: Seven departures daily, 5-6 hours—vans (Cootransmayo, $18) and buses (Transipiales, $12). The companies alternate days.

To Ipiales: half-hourly, 1.5 hours, $5.50—Transipìales, Cootranar, Bolivariano and others; also minvans

Cheaper trucks and chivas leave from a lot terminal at Carrera 9 16-10.

By Air

Aeropuerto Antonio Nariño de Pasto provides direct and connecting services to all of Colombia. It is located 30 kilometers (18 mi) from the city, at Cano (Tel: 732-8013). Avianca flies six times daily to Bogotá and four to Cali. Satena has five daily flights to the capital and three daily to Cali. Many travel agencies in downtown Pasto sell tickets for both airlines.
