Okay, folks--it's time to join an Andean hoe-down! If you've done gotten bored with the same ol' salsa-cumbia-reggeton down at the other clubs, a seemingly endless repetition of the same throbbing lights, the same too-loud music, the same ol'-same-ol', then you have an alternative right here in Pasto. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night Mestizo Peña-Bar presents the best of Andino music live--and occasionally shakes up the mix with a llanera or Afro-Colombian band ($1.10 door charge, no minimum consumption). The locals hit the large dance floor to shake the workweek doldrums away. Don't know the steps? Well, on Wednesday nights, 6-8 p.m., there's classes to get you in the right groove for the weekend ($1.10). Other nights, you can enjoy a drink in this bamboo-paneled space adorned with indigenous artwork. Open MondaySaturday 6 p.m.-1 a.m.; closed Sunday.
