Pasto offers a smorgasbord of dining options. Unfortunately, the city is lacking in good, affordable vegetarian restaurants. The best restaurants are quite a distance from the downtown district, on the Panamericana and on Avenida de los Estudiantes. For those on a budget, the cheapest eateries are along Carrera 22 between Calles 16 and 18, and along Calle 17. The city market is located out near the bus terminal. A Ley supermarket right in the heart of the city can also fill your self-catering needs (Monday-Saturday 8:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Sundays and holidays, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Corner of Calle 18 and Carrera 26).
Nightlife
The rumba in Pasto only happens on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Most of the dance clubs are on Avenida de las Américas and in the Zona Rosa (Calle 20, between Carreras 27 and 28). The other nights of the week, you'll have to settle for having a drink at a bar—but not on Mondays, when many are closed. Some of the more down-home joints have canchas de sapo, if you want to try your hand at a Colombian version of darts: tossing coins into a metal frog's mouth. If you are going out for the night, check the bus schedule beforehand, or take a taxi home.
