

Another place to get out of Popayán's rains are her museums. Many are the historical homes of past illustrious citizens. A few premier art museums also are on the scene, the Museo de Arte Religioso and the Museo Ibernoamericano de Arte Moderno. There is also the distinguished Natural History Museum.
Museo Casa Mosquera (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-noon, 2-6 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and holidays 8 a.m.-noon, 2-5 p.m. Calle 3 5-14, Tel: 09-2-824-0683. Entry: $1.05.)--The 18th century home of José María Mosquera y Figueroa, whose four sons came to be Presidents of the new republic and diplomats.

Museo Arquidiocesano de Arte Religioso (Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 2-6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Calle 4 4-56, Tel: 09-2-824-2759. Entry: $1.60 adults, $0.80 children 6-12 years old.)
