On those blindingly hot Payanés days, drop by Helados de Paila for homemade ice cream made in a large copper bowl snuggled in a bed of ice. Blackberry, papaya and a variety of other natural fruit flavors await your taste buds (from $0.80 and up). A fresh fruit salad also fits the cool-down bill well. You can come by on a rainy day, too, and warm up with a chicken or beef empanada ($1.05) and a hot drink. On Friday, Saturdays and Sundays the house specialty, pork ribs, is served. Closed Sundays.
