Once the sun begins to shine in San Agustín, it gets down right hot. The perfect way to cool down after visiting the Parque Arqueológico or doing the El Tablón-to-El Purutal circuit is to swing by the Piscina Municipal Las Moyas. A more-than-Olympic-sized swimming pool full of cool, fresh spring water awaits your laps. There’s even a slide to sweep you off your tired feet. After drying off, shoot a few games of the other pool (that is, billiards) in the ranchito.

Getting There

Head out of town on Calle 5; the marked turn-off for the pool is 400 meters (1,300 feet) along the road to the Parque Arqueológico; the piscina is a further 100 meters (320 feet) up the side road. You can also take a buseta from Parque Bolívar ($0.50) to

There are no life guards or lockers. The pool is extremely popular on weekends and holidays.
