Artesanías Bambú

Walking down the street near Parque Bolívar, you may hear the strands of charango music coming from a shop. Welcome to Artesanías Bambú, where director Manual Una will lay aside his instrument as you enter. The walls are strewn with jewelry, bags and multitudes of items that he and area artisans create from bamboo, clay, wood, guadua and other natural fibers. Or perhaps one of the stone carvings—replicas of this valley’s statuary—strikes your fancy. Want a charango like don Manual plays? Hand-crafted instruments of all sorts are also for sale. For a special celebration, hire don Manual to perform.
