San Agustín, Colombia

Vegetarian

By Lorraine Caputo

As you’re heading out one early morning to the Parque Arqueológico, stop by Restaurante Brahama for panckakes, with chocolate or your choice of fruit ($1.60). On the backswing, its home-cooked vegetarian comida corriente lunch hits the spot ($1.85). If your dining companions are avowed carnivores, they won’t feel too out of place. This restaurante vegetariano also serves the blue-plate special with meat for the same price. At anytime of day are à la carte plates and fruit salads. These three, two-tone green rooms are a bit worn; off the large one in back is a gate inviting you to the garden. Open daily 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
