Dozens of guides work in San Agustín; however, few of them are officially licensed or speak other than Spanish. With the area now under the control of the Colombian military, more tour operators have opened their doors in anticipation of increased numbers of national and foreign tourists. At the Parque Arqueológico are official guides for hire, many of whom speak English. They charge $16 for groups of one to ten persons.
