Hospedaje Lucerna

Austere on the outside, with only small lettering announcing its presence, Hospedaje Lucerna is big on service. Inside, the rooms are grouped around the flower-filled garden. All share the common bath with great hot water (give 20 minutes notice before hand) and have shuttered windows. Mornings, sit down with the lovely elderly couple who open their home to travelers. Don Secundario will tell you about Tierradentro’s history while you sip on a free cup of organic coffee from his neighboring farm. Doña Carmelita can also squeeze you up a glass of fresh orange juice—yes, organic, from their own orchard ($1.65). You can even wash your clothes here. They also offer camping space with full use of the facilities.
