La Portada Restaurante-Bar

La Portada Restaurante-Bar is one of the few dining choices in San Andrés village that is open out of season. This restaurant is light and airy, with a large, covered verandah constructed of guardanal (giant bamboo) and brick, with brick-tiled floors. Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evenings. Get the breakfast special for $1.60, lunch or dinner for $1.85 for only the main dish  and $2.40 with soup and bandeja. La Portada also whips up good vegetarian options. If you are staying in the Parque Arqueológico sector, remember it is 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) away, a dark walk home after dusk.

Great ambiance

The owner is nice, I had a good time talking with him about Colombian culture. The ambience is nice, too, the place is built from bamboo.
