The Cactus Language School

Location
Cartagena, Colombia

Language School

By Brenda Yun

The Cactus Language School is located in the historic part of Cartagena, and the courses are designed for people who want to improve their Spanish during holidays. The school is located five minutes from the Torre de Reloj and three blocks from El Centro, the walled center of the city. The school itself is spaciously situated in a colonial house that reflects the history and culture of Cartagena. Its cafeteria, internet, library, courtyard, and garden are available for student use. The school works with a non-profit organization called 'Actuar por Bolívar' to help the poorest people of Cartagena. Students at the school are involved in social projects in association with this program to enrich their cultural experience in Cartagena as well as enhance their language skills through practical conversation. Course length can range between 1-12 weeks. Students have the option of staying with a host family or living in the school residence. Dance courses are also available upon request. Booking can be made online.
