The Museo de Arte Moderno is a recent institution. Housed in two buildings — the first, built in the second half of the 17th century; the second added on during the end of the 19th century — it is a cultural institution dedicated to conserving and educating visitors of the diverse manifestations of modern art. Here you will find a permanent collection of Latin American painting from the 1950’s onward and contemporary Colombian and Caribbean art. Individual and temporary exhibitions and collections are frequently updated. The museum’s library and store are worth a visit, as you can purchase educational literature of artists on display.
