City Plaza

By Brenda Yun

La Plaza Bolívar is the ideal place for relaxation in the center of the old city. At lunchtime, the locals (mostly men) take advantage of the shade offered around the center statue of Simon Bolívar on his horse, and the tourists sit down to rest their feet and people watch. Cheap fruit and food stalls are available around the Plaza, as well as some of the city’s best known sites, such as La Catedral, the Museo de Oro, and the Museo de la Inquisición.
