Hotel los Balcones de Badillo

If you’re seeking another great alternative to oft-booked Hotel Tres Banderas in San Diego, look no further than big yellow hotel on the corner of Calles Badillo and Moneda. Onlookers from the street will admire its dozen white balconies overseeing the activity of the streets below. This hotel might look a bit shabby and maze-like from the stairwell, but the rooms here are all nicely furnished and for the most part worth the price. Towels, shampoo, and soap are even wrapped in a nice sea green satin ribbon! Some rooms have those inspiring private balconies while others have just windows. Room 303 is the best suite of the 11 rooms, with 2 queen size beds and a wraparound balcony (it's enormous). During high season, you could pay upwards from $150 for this gem, but it will go for as low as $80 per night if you're a good bargainer. The price includes a hearty breakfast on their very pleasant rooftop that overlooks the city’s morning buzz.
