Coveñas is all about relaxing on the beach or under the shade of a thatched umbrella. There is another slightly less developed but equally pleasant beach, Playa Blanca, 20 minutes west of Coveñas, just past San Antero on the way to Cispatá. Or, if it’s flora and fauna or natural life you are seeking, you don’t have to look far. Volcán de Lodo near El Porvenir, which is 10 minutes west of Coveñas, provides a natural, healing mud bath. A trip to the Manglares of Cispatá is also a worthwhile half-day excursion.
