Safety

In Coveñas. you will have surprisingly more to worry about during the day here than at night. That is, if you spend your day on the beach. Hawkers selling everything imaginable under the sun beg you to buy something. The biggest danger is probably at sea, with boats doing banana and tube rides, or other tours. These craft sometimes can get too close to swimmers.

Coveñas is within a malaria and dengue zone. Take precautions against being bitten and take malarial medication, especially during the rainy season. Jejenes (no-see-ums, sand flies) are quite vicious. Tap water is not potable.
