A high percentage of visitors to San Andrés will be staying in one of Decameron’s five massive hotels. These hotels sell all-inclusive packages which allow you to dine and see shows at any of the five hotels, as long as you sleep at your own. It’s a good way to get to savor several restaurants and shows.
There are non-Decameron hotels available on the island, too. Travelers with any size wallet should be able to find a hotel, including budget backpackers. An inexpensive alternative is the small, family-run posadas nativas inns, like Cli's Place (Avenida 20 de Julio 3-47. Tel: 512-6957 / 0591, E-mail: luciamhj@hotmail.com) and Posada Native Licy (La Loma Flowers Hill 39-19. Tel: 513-3972, Cel: 314-488-9890, E-mail: posada.licy@live.com). For a complete list of the over dozen hostels, see: www.posadasturisticasdecolombia.com/posada.
The fanciest hotels are on the coast and have private beaches. The cheapest lodging options are in the town of San Andrés and do not have beaches.
