Providencia and Santa Catalina: When to go
Climate & Geography
Average year round temperature sits at 25-28 degrees C. October and November are the rainiest months and hurricane season can span from late September into December in a bad year. January through to April are the dry months.
Tourist high season when hotel prices climb steeply is from Mid December – mid January and Easter week. The rest of the year prices can be respectfully negotiated.
Holidays and Fiestas
Festival Folklorico, Cultural y Deportivo de la Vieja Providencia - June 23 – The island’s most important festival that includes sports competitions, gastronomy and a beauty pageant.
Saturdays – Just after 1pm gather on South West beach to see one of the most interesting equine events in the world – the beach horse races of Providencia.
