Residencias El Titantic is the best option if you are traveling on a budget. This hotel is safe, clean and well-kept, with a friendly staff. There is cable television in the lobby or you can sway away lazy days in the hammock in the plant-filled courtyard. The rooftop offers wonderful views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range or a sunset over the Caribbean Sea.
The small El Titantic has ten basic furnished rooms, each with private bath (cold water), fan and color television (local, coastal channels only). Seven of the rooms are located on the ground floor, off the lobby or along one side of the courtyard. The other three are up a spiral wrought-iron staircase and overlook the courtyard. Many of the rooms have full-length windows. Avoid Room No. 9, because it is unbearably stuffy. Some of the rooms are furnished with double beds and others are set up like dormitories. However, in the dormitories, strangers will not be placed in with couples or groups of friends.
While you are gone trekking to Ciudad Perdida or relaxing in Parque Nacional Tayrona, you can store your baggage for no extra charge. When you return from your adventures, you can scrub your clothes in the courtyard's washbasin or have your clothes done by the laundry service. An additional service of Residencias El Titantic is the adequately equipped kitchen, which you may ask to use.

I had stayed here two years earlier. It was just as before, but now it has been stripped bare of personality. The plants are gone and so are the hammocks. And the use of "relaxants" is very open. I left and found another place to spend my time in wonderful Santa Marta. It's a shame, because the Titanic was a great place to stay –back when.
