Despite the number of attractions in the region, Santa Marta has few tour operators. Most of what do exist here focus on one of two activities: the trek to Ciudad Perdida and scuba diving. The first also do day trips into Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona and places on the lower slopes of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The scuba shops offer courses, as well as diving the coral reefs fringing the national park.
