Traveler Reviews of Oceano

Incompetent

Rating: 25%

I had a bad experience with this dive center and would like to warn other travelers, especially since it seems I am not the only one. I was in Taganga for a short stay and since the only day I could dive was Christmas Day, I specifically checked that Oceano indeed had an outing planned that day. On December 24th I passed by the shop a second time to confirm again. “No problem,” they assured me. But when I turned up the next day, they told me that every single one of their employees was either hung-over or still drunk from Christmas celebrations, so they had nobody to man the boat. They also made the weak claim that they could not warn me the night before since they did not know where I was staying, although I had come by with people they have known for years and Taganga is a teeny tiny place where everyone knows everyone. Anyhow, it was still early, so I walked to the next shop around the corner, Vida Marina. Although the guys (obviously neither drunk nor hung-over but bright and cheery) were about to leave on their outing, they got gear ready for me in 5 minutes and took me with them. I had a great time and the instructors even invited me for a beer in the shop later that afternoon. Guess with dive center I recommend…
