Poseidon Dive Center

The oldest scuba shop in Taganga, and the one most frequently recommended is Poseidon Dive Center. Poseidon offers mini-courses for those who don't have much time, yet want a little taste of the briny deeps ($95, half-day, two dives). It provides full courses in open water (four-day, $337, four immersions), advanced, rescue, divemaster and assistant instructor levels. The PADI-certified teachers speak Spanish, English, French and / or German; two are women. Tour options include night dives, underwater photography, deep dives and wreck dives. All Poseidon's packages include scuba equipment (cheaper if you have your own), boat transport, snack and divemaster.

Traveler Reviews of Poseidon Dive Center

Poseidon

This place is a rip off. Just because these Germans can have a big infrastructure for their big boat and pool which by the way never get used, they charged a price 640,000 when I was there. It is better to shop around

Dive at Tayrona National Park, Santa Marta, Colombia

The dive instructors were professional, careful, helpful and friendly. They spoke a variety of languages. The dive experience was comfortable and international with divers from several different countries. The value for the money was terrific. The dive sites were not all that far away so you didn't spend all your time getting to the dive sites. There was a large variety of marine life and the coral was terrific and not damaged from recent hurricanes, as Tayrona National Park is not in a hurricane zone of Colombia. There is a local flavor as well, as the fishermen bring in their catch and it is offered at the local beach restaurants.
