When to go

By Brenda Yun

Tolú, like Cartagena, has the benefit of year-round tropical weather and generally hot and clear conditions. During December, January, and Semana Santa (Easter) this place gets so packed with people that it’s not really worth coming. On the weekends — especially Sundays — you will find the beaches full of people. Strangely, during the weekdays, this town is very quiet and peaceful. Depending on what suits your fancy, Tolú really can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
