In a one-story, mall-like setting, are over two dozen stalls of local artesanos, or craftspeople of Valledupar and the surrounding region. You can buy the molded white hats of the Arhuaco indigenous community of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, densely woven bags and of the Wayuu of the Guajira. There's the black and white paja sombreros (the national symbol of Colombia) and Vallenato kitsch. Yes, you can even form your own Vallenato band here, with small accordions, modern caja drums and guacharaca (scraper).
